Day out with a group of 3, working on their winter safe travel skills. This included a 30 min chat at base, discussing objectives for the day in light of the weather forecast, SAIS reports for adjacent areas, and how the weather through the week would have shaped the snowpack. We then headed up Ben Vorlich, exploring the snowpack, discussing safe route options, and brushing up on technical skills relating to footwork, use of boots, axe and crampons to safeguard ourselves in different snow conditions. We managed to fight through the wind and spindrift to reach the summit, before heading down.
