Dull windy day with heavy snow showers and snow above 600m. From patterdale climbed helvellyn via striding edge and then around the tops back to patterdale. lots of snow on the ground. I felt that our leader was under confident in his ability and that we were unsafe. We had no crampons or ice axes and the ground was steep and icy.
