Description

Day out shadowing Jamie Bankhead who was working for Hebridean Pursuits. Broke trail most of the way in. Jamie led the 2 clients up the initial gully before passing the reigns over to them for a couple of pitches. I soloed alongside with Jamie as he taught and generally made myself useful, soloing back down to add some extra coaching to the second, pre-placing some gear on the short traverse section, retrieving gear that had gotten stuck. From the short knife ridge section Jamie took over leading duties to the top of the ridge.
Descent down the North Ridge, Jamie short roping the clients most of the way with the odd short protected down climb. Winds after the difficulties on North Ridge and we had put the rope away were ridiculously strong! Serious gusts. Very wet by the time we got down to the car. Clients had done very well given the conditions encountered.

Area : The Mamores

The Mamores provide some extremely fine winter mountaineering ridge scrambles and also some classic and popular climbs on Stob Bhan. Also included are the rarely formed Steall Falls in Glen Nevis.
