Climbed with Mark Stevenson, first pproper route of the season and what a corker! Greta fun climbing. Made the walk in in good time, surprised to see a few teams queueing for Poco Loco! Mark led the first pitch from the gearing up spot up the first step and up into the start of the corner. I led the chimney pitch until just below the tight squeeze, nice climbing. Mark led us up and out through the squeeze to the juncture with West Chimney Route. I then took us around on to the top of the Arch and Mark led the final groove pitch. Great day out.
Area :
Glen Coe, Ardgour and Loch Etive to Appin (winter)
Glen Coe gives a wealth of winter climbing opportunities of all grades and styles, something indeed for everyone. The cliffs are also, in the main, easily accessible which means they can become very popular. This area also includes the winter climbs on the mountains south of Glen Coe in Glen Etive, and on hills more southerly still but north of the A85 Oban road (notably Ben Cruachan). Also included are the hills of Appin and Ballachuilish, the dry tooling of Ballachuilish bridge, and the winter climbs in Ardgour (notably Garbh Bheinn).
