Description

Parked by Loch Earn
Walked in via Glen Vorlich and Coire Buidhe
Crampons required from 500m, very icy on steep north ridge of Ben Vorlich. From summit continued south west, then south across steep ground to the Bealach an Dubh Choirein. Climbed Stuc a Chroin by the north face - very steep and icy, great care required as some long run outs below. Had to cut steps in places in order to progress, made a mental note that an alternative route out would be required, topped out and continued south to summit cairn.
Came back via Coire Chroisg, followed the ridge west from Stuc a Chroin until i found a less steep rout into the coire, then walked north up onto the Creag Dubh ridge, then dropped back into Coire Buidhe followed the path back to Glen Vorlich and Loch Earn.

Area : Strathyre to Strathallan (Ben Vorlich)

This area includes the eastern edge of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, and the Glen Artney Hills. Access is typically from the A84 or A85.
