Description

Start at the Pindale Farm Outdoor Centre and walk to Hope where we then continued to Townhead and up to Lose Hill. Follow the ridge to Black Tor and onto Hollins Cross until we reach Mam Tor. Walk south to windy Knoll and onto the Limestone Path towards Pevril Castle to Castleton. At Castleton follow road back to the camp-site. All along the way I was teaching the students and teachers about expedition travel in preperation for the upcoming expedition to Peru in the summer.

Area : Dark Peak

Is situated between Sheffield and Manchester. The underlying rock is Millstone grit which is often exposed at the edge of the higher peat bogs for which the area is famous.
