Tim is great, he is enthusiastic, caring and brilliant with a wide range of clients. His personal skills way exceed the required level at MIA standard and I have no doubt Tim will cruise the training and assessment phases. He has climbed in several locations around the globe and to a good high standard. Tim has worked at the Castle for many years in the capacity of an instructor and duty manager. He has always proven reliable and has demonstrated an easy facility with clients. He is sensitive to client requirements and always provides appropriate guidance and progressive content in his sessions. He has consistently undertaken cpd to keep up to date with best practice and he actively participates in all of our quarterly duty manager and instructor training workshops which cover essential h&s updates, accident analysis, rescue scenarios/practicals, coaching skills sessions, etc. As an employer, i have had ample opportunity to see and discuss Tim's professional judgement and demeanour in practice and i have always been happy to trust Tim; he is an essential member of both our instructing and h&s management teams. On a more personal note, Tim is a long-term climber with extensive experience indoors and out. Climbing with him is always fun, and I trust him implicitly on the other end of the rope. I am very confident in recommending Tim for both the Mountain Instructor Award and for instructing practice in general, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to do so.
