Jamie is the NICAS Course Director at Dart Rock Climbing Centre, Buckfastleigh. He has always been fascinated by the outdoors, and holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Outdoor Adventure Education. A regular climber since the opening of the Centre several years ago, he can regularly be seen behind the reception of the Centre, providing professional training and advice to the Dart Rock Youth Team who compete nationally, or out on the nearby local crags guiding clients on their first outdoor adventures. His main roles are to ensure that the climbing Centre is used to its full potential, maintained to an exceptionally high standard whilst also offering users safe, exciting and challenging routes to climb in a safe and user-friendly environment, and to provide supervision and advice to individual and group climbers as required.
He honestly believes he couldn’t be in a much better line of work. Jamie is a current member of the Mountain Training Association, committed to continued professional development. For instruction and coaching, email jamie@dartrock.co.uk. Similarly, you can visit his personal blog website, climbdevon.com.
