I discovered my love for hill walking at 13, on a school climbing trip that changed my life forever. Nestled at the foot of the Watkin Path in Nant Gwynant, Hertfordshire’s Snowdonia Centre opened the door to days filled with adventure, wonder, and landscapes so breathtaking they felt almost otherworldly. In just ten days, I learned lessons that would shape a lifetime - lessons in resilience, curiosity, and the joy of pushing beyond limits. Since then, I’ve explored mountains and wilderness across the UK and around the world, but Snowdonia still calls to me like nowhere else. It remains my spiritual home, and the Watkin Path is still my favourite route to the summit - rising from near sea level, it offers the full, unforgettable drama and beauty of Yr Wyddfa in all its glory.
