Hi, I’m Jordan Atlee, founder of Ridge & River. I’ve been passionate about the outdoors for as long as I can remember, from picking up a paddle on a Scouts trip at 8 to becoming a junior kayak coach at 16. I studied Outdoor Education, discovered climbing, and spent years exploring the Gower’s cliffs, setting the stage for a lifelong career in adventure and outdoor education.
Over the years, I’ve worked in West Wales, Ireland, Austria, and North Wales, earning my first Rescue 3 qualification in 2008. I later became a Rescue 3 Europe Instructor Trainer, combining my love for adventure with a focus on safety and skill development. One of the most fulfilling roles of my career was leading international trips with UWCSEA to destinations like Singapore, Malaysia, India, and Japan, while also managing risk assessments and operational planning.
Today, I hold qualifications as a Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing Instructor, Kayak Coach, and more. When I’m not working, I’m adventuring with my wife, Leanne, and our small-but-mighty dog, Ivy, who’s often scaling North Wales’ peaks with us (and even makes an appearance in our logo!).
