I was introduced to rock climbing in 2006 at the end of a very warm ski season. The snow had melted and Paul Swail, an MIA at the time, took a group of us to Roche Baron, just outside of Briançon. He chose some interesting easy routes for those of us who hadn't climbed before and I was hooked, buying my first harness and rock shoes a few days later. I had some instruction into sport climbing techniques whilst staying in the Trivlav National Park in Slovenia that year and in 2008 I moved to Briançon full time and immersed myself into climbing. I lived in the alps for 3 years, mostly bouldering, sport climbing and doing long, multi-pitch routes around Ailefroide and the Cerces but also trying my hand at Alpine and Ice climbing. In 2011 I moved back to England and started my Trad climbing apprenticeship. My main passion is introducing people to climbing as I will always remember how Paul introduced me to an activity and lifestyle that has changed my life immeasurably, a gift that I take great pleasure in passing on.
