CLIMBING SKILLS REFRESHER (CWA & SPA): This is a full-day surgery-style workshop that will be shaped by the needs of those who attend. Generally speaking, it will look at key areas of the Climbing Wall Award syllabus and the abseil module, focusing on simple session planning, warm ups, problem solving/avoidance, group management and improving personal climbing skills. While this is an indoor based workshop, many of these skills are transferable across both the CWA and SPA schemes and is perfect for anyone needing to brush up on their skills before assessment or for award holders looking to revisit and update their skills and add more tricks and tips to their toolbox. Tutor: Andy Bewick, longstanding provider of CWA and SPA training and assessment courses. Prerequisites: This workshop is designed for anyone that has attended a CWA or SPA training course or holds a climbing award. Timings: 9am - 5pm What to bring: Bring a packed lunch, your personal climbing gear and warm clothes (it may be chilly even indoors!) The workshop will be tailored to the needs of those attending and will improve your tool box to work with groups indoors. Whatever you want to work on, whatever area of skill you want to refresh, Andy can help you out. Get in touch by email when you book and let him know what you want to cover.
