Sunday Full Day 09.00am - 17.00pm Workshop: Intermediate Mountain Biking This one-day course with one of the UK’s top MTB coaches will be an excellent skills development day, a great refresher and/or an insight into British Cycling’s Mountain Bike Leader awards. You will learn the core skills which are the fundamental building blocks of mountain biking: body positioning; braking; cornering; ascending; descending; low speed balance etc, that will put you in control of your mountain bike, give you confidence and help you to get more out of your riding right away. Suitable for relatively new mountain bikers as well as experienced mountain bikers who want to learn or re-visit the basics to improve their performance. Workshop Leader: Jules Fincham Jules Fincham is one of the top MTB coaches in the UK. He is the director and head tutor of Cycle Wild Scotland, the largest independent provider of mountain bike leader awards in Scotland. A senior tutor with British and Scottish Cycling, he is a key figure in the creation and continuing development of British Cycling’s UKMBL awards, the gold standard in mtb leader qualifications. Jules is also a tutor for Cycling Scotland, a Scottish Government initiative to promote and encourage biking in all its forms, including GO MTB, a 5-level proficiency awards system for mountain bikers. Bike School Scotland is Jules’s other baby. Based at Laggan’s Wolftrax bike centre, the school has been offering skills coaching to mountain bikers for 12 years. As a founding member and Head Coach of the Wolfpax MTB Club he is more than a little proud that the club has helped foster the talent of new generations of mountain bike racers, riders and coaches. With his experience of all aspects of coaching, management and development, Jules is also much in demand as an advisor on biking for public and private sector organisations.
