About

Saturday Half Day PM - 09.00AM - 12.30PM Workshop: Star Gazing Taking the time to look up at the night sky when working with a group outdoors can be a humbling and magical experience, especially when we're in wild places away from the glare of streetlights. But what are we actually looking into when we look up, where are we within the vastness of space and what relevance does astronomy have for our lives down here on Earth? This 1/2 day workshop aims to explore these questions and to equip participants with some basic astronomical knowledge and some ‘on the hill’ methods that can help the wonders of the night sky really come alive, hugely adding to the overall depth and richness of an outdoor experience. Workshop Leader: Rupert Hutchinson Rupert is an IML, outdoor educator and facilitator based in Edinburgh where he runs 'Living Alive' (www.livingalive.earth) with his partner Elle; taking groups out into the wild places of Scotland and the Pyrenees. He runs the astronomy and stargazing module for the Wilderness Scotland Guides Training Program, public workshops for the University of the Highlands and Islands and CPD for BAIML.
