This workshop investigates the principles of physical training and how you can use the routes and boulder problems at your local wall to make a difference to your training. It will help you understand the basics of the body, how training affects it and gives advice on ‘How not to injure young climbers’ and so is suitable for anyone coaching squads or clubs. This workshop covers the following broad areas. - Demands of the sport - Energy systems required for climbing - Basic physiology and anatomy - Principles of training and creating adaptation - Practical sessions on how to improve conditioning, strength and endurance
