This one day workshop looks at the planning and execution of effective remote supervision. Subjects include: what is remote supervision; Our responsibilities as leaders; factors to consider; principles of effective remote supervision; assessing and managing risk; managing teams of supervisors. The workshop will include practical exercises, scenarios and discussions mostly taken on the hill. Much of the content from this workshop has been used in the recent rewrite of the national guidance notes. Please come prepared for a full day out on the hill. Bring tea money for a café start / stop. Meet at: Foxtor Café, Princetown PL20 6QS for 0900. The workshop will finish at approx. 1600. Whilst aimed at qualified leaders of groups in the hills the workshop can be available to anyone involved in the remote supervision of groups. just drop me an email if you have any questions. MTA Member Rate £40, non-members £50. Cancellation: if minimum numbers (4) have not been reached by 7 days before the workshop start date the course will be cancelled and any payments returned in full The workshop is delivered by Gavin Kelly, AMI and MTA SW rep and Technical Adviser. He has extensive experience of supervising groups for D of E and Ten Tors as well as other events and is a contributor to the recently revised Remote Supervision Guidance Notes.
