The Winter Mountain Environment
This one-day workshop is intended to broaden participants knowledge of the winter environment from recognising forest tree species to investigating the mammals which inhabit the forests. The course will help with identification of coniferous trees and some of the broad-leaved trees too. The course is run with activities and techniques designed to aid learning and retaining knowledge. We also look at the issues surrounding reintroducing species and concepts of ‘rewilding’. The pace of the course is slow so it is vital that you dress appropriately as we will be standing around for periods of time during the activities. A pen and paper is often a good idea to bring along and participants often take photos and make digital notes as they go. But you may get cold fingers!!
