Provider Biography
I have been a qualified IML since 2012 based in the Pyrenees Orientales region of France.
One of my passions when working in the winter environment is bringing the nature of the region to life by showing and explaining the wealth of tracks and sign that is available to us.
I believe that an in depth knowledge of this subject is not only interesting, but an essential part of our winter work.

Proposed Route / Journey Description:
Either a tour based from the Pla des Avellans, the Col de Creu or Puyvalador ski station. To be confirmed based on an assessment of the weather and snow cover.

Equipment Required By Leader & Clients:
Participants need relevant winter clothing and equipment for safe practice.
Snowshoes are essential. If needed these can be hired from us.
Food and drink for a day in the mountains.
Camera / notebook.
Guide will provide-
Group shelter, 1st Aid kit
Crib sheets.

CPD Content / Syllabus:
Refresher or more in depth look at the tracks and signs we can expect to find whilst working in the winter wilderness.
Tracks- The track left by the feet and sometimes wings of animals and birds in the snow.
Sign- Droppings, chew marks, rub marks, peck marks are all forms of sign we can work with.
Aim is to give a broad outline of how to identify tracks and sign and from that knowledge how this can be used whilst working.
We will look at both animal and bird tracks and sign.
