Come and explore the newest bit of National Park in England - the Wonderful Westmorland Dales.
The perfect place for a collaboration between the new Yorkshire MTA area and the Lake District area - this fascinating day will take place in Cumbria - whilst still being in the Yoprkshire Dales National Park.
We'll be meeting at 09:30 at the Orton Scar Cafe - with the aim of spending the rest of the day undertaling a circular walk that visits some of the area's rich historical, geological and natural sites. The walk will be informally led by Kelvyn James & Iain Mcintyre. Kelvyn is an IML who's lived in Orton for 20years - Iain is the new Yorkshire Rep & an archealogist.
During the day we'll be visiting limestone pavement, two nature reserves, an astounding area of upland wetland, some ancient roman settlements and a stone circle - we may even go fo a beer afterwards...
You'll need to bring your walking kit and lunch and drinks.
