Award Description
The Hill and Moorland Leader award is designed for people who want to lead groups in the hill and moorland areas of the UK and Ireland. This award is a wonderful opportunity to learn the leadership skills required to feel confident about taking people out walking. As you may have guessed from the descriptive title of this award, it focuses on non-mountainous terrain.
This course will be based in the Upper Swansea Valley, giving easy access to the best walking areas in the Western Bannau Brychiniog (Brecon Beacons) national Park. It is accessed easily from the M4 and there are a wide range of accommodation options available close by. The area is blessed with a variety of terrain for us to explore including hills, mountain and moors, giving an ideal location to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required by a Hill & Moorland Leader.
