Award Description
The Hill and Moorland Leader award is designed for people who want to lead groups in the hill and moorland areas of the UK and Ireland. This award is a wonderful opportunity to learn the leadership skills required to feel confident about taking people out walking. As you may have guessed from the descriptive title of this award, it focuses on non-mountainous terrain.
This assessment is being run by the Charity Wellness Walks; any surplus from course delivery goes towards running our programme of totally free Wellness Walks across the UK and supporting the delivery of our personal skills courses aimed specifically at increasing diversity and inclusion in the outdoor sector.
The Assessment Course will take place in Hill & Moorland Terrain in North Wales - venues will alter slightly each day to maximise good assessment conditions and offer a range of terrain and conditions.
Anyone wishing to book a place on this course should ensure that they meet the assessment requirements (logbook, experience and confidence) - we're super happy to talk this through with you if you are not sure.
Assessment ratio is 1:4
