Yes, you did read that correctly. I’ll be in the Yorkshire Dales for a special environmental workshop this year. I'm joining Mark Reid FRGS of TeamHillwalking again to present a Geology, geography, archaeology, landscape and nature workshop. We’ll go in search of some limestone specialist plants. We’ll delve into the grikes in search of woodland remnants, including some ferns, and we’ll chase familiar species on the acidic grits too. I hope we’ll see plenty of bird life there’ll be meadow pipits of course, but will there be curlew and ring ouzel?

Join me and Mark for an explaination of the geology the geomorphology, the plant life, fauna and flora of the Yorkshire Dales. As is typical on my workshops a wide range of topics relevant to mountain leaders will be covered. Discussions will look at land use, human impacts and the choices we face about upland management in the future. We’ll probably head up onto the moors above the village, but our final route choice will be decided nearer the time and I’ll contact you the week before this trip with the final details. There are a limited number of places on this workshop, which counts as CPD for MTA and AMI, so early booking is recommended.
