The course will start by discussing our responsibilities of developing climbers’ general movement and the concept of lifelong sport, and not just for climbing. This will explore the Long-Term Athlete Development pathway and consider injury risk of young climbers and epiphyseal fractures (growth plates). The practical aspects will look at progressive development for new climbers by using slabs, with a focus on base of support, dynamic and static weight transfer, and footwork, plus lots more.
