Award Description

This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on single pitch crags and climbing walls. Common activities undertaken by Rock Climbing Instructor will be roped climbing and bouldering. This scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.

Rock Climbing Instructor Training

West Country Adventures aims to help optimise your rock climbing experience and journey.  We work to ensure a bespoke approach is taken wherever possible, whilst meeting the course outcomes and syllabus topics. We strive to deliver your course in a fun, supportive, informative and nurturing manner.

The Rock Climbing Instructor qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on single pitch crags and climbing walls.

Common activities undertaken by Rock Climbing Instructor will be roped climbing and bouldering. This scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.

The course will utilise crags on Dartmoor and South Devon. These will be confirmed on day 1 and take the weather and course syllabus into account. They are liekly to be, Sheeps Tor, Dewerstone, Hound Tor, Chudleigh.
