DESCRIPTION:
An opportunity for ALL members but especially those registered for the Lowland Leader qualification, or those who have completed training, as well as those who are qualified, to practise and develop their leadership, group management and navigation skills as well as sharing knowledge on flora, fauna and the environment. A great opportunity to familiarise yourself with this section of the North Downs Way, whilst covering skills required by a lowland leader along the way.
The first stage of the North Downs Way takes you from Farnham to Guildford through woodland, chalkland, golf courses, past beautiful houses all along a version of the Pilgrims Way which goes from Winchester to Canterbury. This part of the NDW is relatively quiet but has much of interest including splendid views.
START:
Farnham Railway station, GU9 8AD or Guildford Railway Station GU1 4UT.
There is a train from Guildford at 9.23 arriving in Farnham at 9.46. Trains are every 30 minutes. Park in Farnham Road Car Park next to Guildford Station, if coming by train.
Alternatively, there is parking at Farnham Station and get a train back.

It is about a mile from there to Guildford Station where trains go to London, Portsmouth, Surrey etc.
There is a good country pub called The Good Intent en route in Puttenham for some lunchtime refreshment.
Normal day walk kit for the terrain and weather conditions. Food and drink, please bring your own ( or you can buy lunch at the pub ).
This walk will be led by Assistant Regional Co-ordinator Georgina Churchlow a qualified Lowland Leader and supported by Jo Ireland Regional Co-ordinator.
