Our Rock Skills courses are designed to provide structured training opportunities for people who want to learn more and become independent climbers. There are three different levels so that complete beginners and those with more experience can choose the most appropriate starting point. 

Saturday 7th - Tuesday 10th June 2025

4 Day Intensive
Learn to Lead Trad

Llanberis, Snowdonia

This is an intensive 4 day Rock Skills Learn to Lead Trad course. Twice as much time, twice as much climbing. We'll cover all the same skills as on our 2 Day Rock Skills Learn to Lead Trad course, with an extra 2 days to consolidate, practise and develop with extra coaching input and time on the sharp end.

The Rock Skills Learn to Lead Trad course is your ticket to opening up a world of climbing. We’ll look at all the skills you'll need to enjoy the climbing on the wealth of traditionally protected crags we have across the UK and beyond.

Our courses are delivered from our Basecamp, right on the high street in Llanberis, Snowdonia and include any technical equipment needed, as well as free tea & coffee. Our ethos is to run fun, friendly and relaxed courses to develop your confidence and skills.

Course Aims

By the end of this course you’ll have;

• An enjoyable time climbing on real rock
• Have the skills to lead trad protected routes
• Be ready to move on to a multi-pitch trad climbing course

Our Basecamp provides a quiet, private space for Mountain Independence where we run morning meetings and evening lectures; equipped with facilities for weather briefings, presentations and resources. Llanberis itself is a great base, with lots of local crags, plenty of accomodation options, and good transport links. 

With tea and coffee included in the package; finishing the course with a slice of cake is just the icing on the, well....
