Award Description

This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on single pitch crags and climbing walls. Common activities undertaken by Rock Climbing Instructor will be roped climbing and bouldering. This scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.

This Course assesses candidates in line with the Rock Climbing Instructor syllabus.  Candidates must have attended a training course or been granted exemption.  Candidates should ensure they have recorded their climbing and supervision experience on DLOG including the minimum prerequisites as laid out in the scheme handbook.

Our courses are run on and around Dartmoor using various crags and suitable indoor climbing walls.  All our courses are designed to ensure maximum learning and enjoyment while delivering the required outcomes.

On booking you will be sent full pre-course information including joining instructions, a home research paper, precourse tasks and useful preparatory reading material.
