TRUST YOUR TRAD GEAR!
This workshop is designed to help you improve your confidence and develop your skillset for personal trad leads, and help you to become a more solid climber as you move towards the RCDI qualification, or want to consolidate your lead climbs as an RCI instructor.
Who is this workshop for?
You will need to be a qualified RCI to attend this workshop. You will either be looking to progress on to higher level climbing awards such as RCDI, or just wanting to consolidate and improve your personal leading. If you are a member of the Mountain Training association, this workshop can count as CPD.
Workshop content:
This day is all about learning to really trust your trad gear, fine tune your gear placements and build confidence so that you don’t lead trad as if you’re soloing! We’ll look at progressive (and safe) ways to weight and test your gear at a single pitch venue, We'll help make better decisions about your trad gear when it's not totally bomber and obvious, and build up your trust in yourself, your gear and your belayer. This day also gives an opportunity to meet others working towards climbing awards, and ask questions about RCDI and MCI.
This session will run on Tuesday 5th August from 09.30am - 4.30pm, and there will be a maximum group size of 6.
We will use crags in Langdale, but exact venues sill be decided once we have a weather forecast.
Shared transport can be available from Keswick for anyone travelling by public transport.
You need to bring your own personal climbing equipment (harness, helmet, rock shoes, belay device), and a trad rack/rope.
I will also be running another coaching workshop on Wednesday 6th August if you would like to attend both days!
