Award Description

The Lowland Leader qualification has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you'll never be short of places to go walking.

The Lowland Leader run by Leading Edge has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you'll never be short of places to go walking. This is a great qualification for anyone wanting to take their informal leading to the next level, or for those interested in starting their Mountain Training qualification pathway. Leading Edge offer a relaxed, open and friendly Lowland Leader course, progressivally taking you through the key group management, navigation, access and environmental elements. We will help you develop, hone and polish your personal skills, all the time imparting teaching and coaching techniques you can use when working with others. You will leave inspired, motivated and with a personal action plan of what you need to do before coming forward for assessment.  We will meet on the first morning in Petes Eats Cafe where will have an informal chat to start the course and outline the scope of the Lowland Leader Award.
