This FREE half day workshop has been organised by Snowdonia Active.
As part of the NRW funded reconciling conservation and recreation project, we will be holding the next in the series of environmental workshops at Craig yr Aderyn (Bird's Rock).
Craig yr Aderyn is designated as an SPA and SSSI for breeding and roosting chough who forage its grassy slopes, and the only regular inland breeding colony of cormorant in Wales.
This session will focus on the unique environment of Craig yr Aderyn, the importance of protected sites, how to ensure minimal impact whilst leading groups and species identification in the field. With contributions from SNPA, NRW, the BMC and the RSPB.
Included in the session will be an introduction to the site, including flora and fauna identification, history, myth and legend, access information and a sharing of onsite best practice, all useful facts that can be shared with clients. This session is one of a number of sessions delivered in partnership with NRW.
As a part of this project, we are creating site guides for 5 designated Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) or Special Protection Areas (SPAs) across North Wales, which will act as a go-to document when delivering outdoor sessions with groups at these sites. These will be available in PDF format from April 2018.
These workshops are funded by NRW, SNPA, the BMC, Mountain Training Cymru and the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB.
Rhys Gwynn, SNPA, Rhodri Parry, NRW, Elfyn Jones, BMC and Adrienne Stratford, RSPB will deliver this workshop.
Meeting point: Craig yr Aderyn, grass layby and parking space at SH650 075
