Workshop Outline: A practical session exploring the natural world and looking in particular at the UK mountain habitat and the species that make this their home. This will include a look at lichens, mosses, plants, birds and animals along with their tracks and signs. We will also look at indicator species for mountain and upland habitats and how species interact as part of a mountain ecosystem. During the day there will be plenty of tips on how to remember easy species to show your clients along with a few interesting facts and tales to tell them. We will also discuss erosion and conservation of the environment. Open to: All AMI Full and Trainee Members, plus MTA and BAIML Members Equipment needed: Appropriate walking gear for a day on the hill and a packed lunch. Notebook and pen, camera (optional) This workshop is being run by Lucy Dunn. Lucy grew up in the Lake District, works full time in the Outdoor Industry, has a BSc in Natural Sciences and volunteers for various conservation bodies including Cumbria Wildlife Trust and the RSPB.
