Award Description

The Lowland Leader qualification has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you'll never be short of places to go walking.

Get ready for the 2019 season early. An ideal and easily accessible location for any ATC personnel based in/around South Yorkshire, Staffs or the Peak to complete their training. This is a residential course run out of the Totley Ranges Residential Centre, Sheffield. S17 3BD. No non-residential option exists as the course includes some evening classroom work. This course is only open to Cadet/HM Forces personnel. Joining instructions will be emailed out to all candidates once the course has been finalised. Please state in any booking enquiry what Unit, Wing and Region you are from. Priority is afforded to North and Wales and West Region ATC first, followed by other ATC candidates, then ACF, SCC, CCF, AF personnel. External candidates cannot be accepted for insurance reasons.

Please note you have to pre-register with Mountain Training and obtain a registration number before I can book you on this course. There are pre conditions to attending training, details which can be found on the MT website. This is not a course for beginners.
