Nordic Walking is one of the fastest developing activities in Europe, the health & fitness benefits of correct usage are not only applicable to IMLs but also a growing public marketplace with business opportunities and business development income streams for IMLs. During the course, you will be introduced to techniques that will assist you whilst using poles during the course of your IML activities to assist you and your clients; as well as providing you with business ideas for you to consider. For those wanting to undertake Nordic Walking Instructor training and assessment following this CPD, Steve will be running, on behalf of British Nordic Walking, a Nordic Walking Instructor Course in Wiltshire on 23/24 January 2021 – details can be obtained from CPD Provider, Steve Ellis.

Please bring - normal outdoor clothes, waterproofs and trail shoes/walking boots and rucksack for snacks/water etc. Nordic Walking specific poles will be provided – please tell us your height as poles are specific to individuals height. Please read and understand our notes on ‘Pole Loan’.

COVID-19 Precautions – Please ensure you maintain 2m social distancing at all times; in addition, as helpful as we all want to be, under the current Government guidelines we cannot assist each other with passing poles over stiles etc. You are strongly advised to carry hand sanitiser with you on all walks and activities; as well as thorough hand washing at your earliest opportunity. For those requiring Nordic Walking Pole Loan, please be assured we have procedures to ensure that you have clean straps and sanitised poles for you to use. You will be required to sanitise poles following your use; however, we will guide you through the procedure and provide the cleaning materials for you to use.

The workshop will be run by Steve Ellis who, as well as being an IML, Personal Trainer and business owner, he is an INWA accredited National Nordic Walking Trainers for the UK, running instructor courses throughout the year. Steve has made Nordic Walking his business ‘Gemini Outdoor’, with 9 group classes each week, plus local treks, as well as treks in the UK and overseas ‘all with poles’. His active Nordic Walking and fitness business has over 100 active members; furthermore, he has trained over 500 people in the last 9 years of business; many of whom are also IMLs and now also Nordic Walking Instructors.
