(Due to popularity, this is the second workshop of its type in the same week)
Langdale is a great valley for working in. It not only gives us many options for working with clients it also represents many other valleys both in Wales and Scotland and so as part of an AMI workshop the skills discussed and applied on this workshop can easily be applied to other venues.
We’ll discuss the many crags and mountains within Langdale, sharing insight into the best link-ups and routes that make for brilliant days out.
There are so many crags and ridges and ground to suit virtually any delivery requirement. We use Langdale for everything from family fun days, Mountain Leader/Rock Climbing Instructor training days to guiding high on the mountain crags.
Of course, we won’t be able to get to all the venues but we can discuss many of the crags, routes, descent routes, abseil options.
There are so many topics that we could cover in a day like this but we will endeavour to chat in the morning and tailor the day to suit the level of participants.
My aim through this day is for us to get our brains fired up again, and be as open as possible for each of our gaining knowledge.
As part of the workshop fee I will collate lessons learned and email to the attendees as much of the info gathered in a useful resource for future use.
Any trainees wanting to share lesson plans for future clients please feel free to chat with me after the course to develop your skills.
Choosing what to do with clients and where to go can make or break your day. I think this workshop will really open our eyes to the opportunities available in Langdale.
This is a peer-led workshop being co-ordinated by Stu Carter, WMCI, director of Climb365, Mountain Training Provider of ML, RCI and RCDI, Mountain Training regional moderator.

Also bring a fold out chair and belay jacket for the review session at the end of the day.
Also bring a willingness to share ideas and previous experience.
