Award Description
The Lowland Leader qualification has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you'll never be short of places to go walking.
This course will take place over two days on 22nd and 23rd of June 2021.
The course will take place in the relatively wild Shropshire Hills 30miles west of the large Cities of Wolverhampton and Birmingham
The course will concentrate on the core areas of the Lowland Leader syllabus, including; the scope of the award, equipment, navigation, leadership, Flora and Fauna, legal framework and risk assessment. The course will be delivered practically and outdoors predominently on paths in hilly areas.
The course will be delivered in a friendly style and the assessment framework will be laid out clearly so that trainees leave the course knowing exactly what they need to do to pass this award.
The trainer will make every effort to flex the course to the needs of the trainees.
