Award Description

This is a combined training and assessment course for people who want to actively support a qualified instructor. Qualified Indoor Climbing Assistants can assist with core tasks within a session, directly supervised by an instructor.

Indoor Climbing Assistant

This is a new exciting course developed to enable people who don’t want to take on full responsibility for running a climbing session but can offer valuable contributions to delivery.

As an Indoor Climbing Assistant all roles will be carried out under the supervision of a qualified instructor.

The development of the Indoor Climbing Assistants course has also provided new opportunities for people who may not be able to complete the full criteria of a Climbing Wall or Rock Climbing Instructors course because of an impairment for example spinal, visual or learning impairment

Mountain Training are particularly keen to support a greater range of abilities into taking on more positive and influential role in delivery of adventure activities.
