International Safeguarding for Expedition & Mountain Leader - Half Day AM
A half day certificated workshop designed for UK & Overseas Expedition Leaders/Supervisors and those leading treks. The workshop gives individuals specific tools for managing and leading teams within a specific context of promoting the 'safeguarding' of others and the Leader. It includes interactive sessions, case studies and scenario based examples, along with up-to-date national developments in safeguarding. The session is suitable for new and established leaders who want to develop their skills and share their experiences. The workshop is relevant for those who lead both youth and adult expeditions. A useful and practical resource pack supplied to participants..

Matt is an IML, adventurer and renowned Independent Safeguarding consultant/trainer. He has been leading and working on expeditions worldwide for 30 years. He advises & assists the BMC Executive Safeguarding Group on national policy issues, and training for climbing and mountaineering. Matt has specialist statutory child & adult protection investigation/management and Fostering Services experience working with public protection agencies worldwide and across UK Safeguarding Boards.
