Scrambling Skills and Steep Ground - Full Day
A day in the Welsh Hills to explore Client care issues in broken and difficult ground.
Group needs and weather will determine where we go and what level we scramble to.
A chance for members and aspirants to explore issues with regard to client care and enjoyment whilst in more challenging terrain.
The day will aim to:
Have great day in the hills and complete a Classic Scramble
Explore and develop movement skills, and coaching
Route choice, hazard awareness and reduction of risk
Guide book use and interpretation
Client care without the use of a rope
If required client care with rope (this will form a small part of the day)
Improvisation and skill application in a range of trekking situations
Dealing with emergencies in Europe and Greater Ranges
Anything else as dictated by the group.
Equipment
Please come equipped for a day in the hills of Wales in November.
Please bring a short emergency rope sling and crab and group shelter if you have them.
Map and Scramble guide book if you have one.
Group members might like to have a helmet for some parts of the day. If in doubt please bring one along.
We can then decide what and how many to take, between the group.
