Managing clients in extreme conditions - Half Day AM
This workshop looks at how an IML can manage clients in three different environments: at high altitude, in the cold and in the heat/humidity. It will cover broad aspects of trip preparation, client advice, training and equipment, as well as managing emergency situations and practical leadership.
The session looks at personal skills as well as leadership skills, from taking school groups on adventure trips to guiding exploratory expeditions into polar and desert regions and on high altitude mountaineering trips.
Equipment
Participants do not need to bring anything. The session should be colourful and informative and interactive and hopefully useful to anyone planning to use their IML with groups around the world in interesting conditions! There will be information sheets to go alongside the talk/pictures/videos.
