Dan Jones the Great Orme Shepherd is once again offering us a few hours to explain his job and offer a couple of demonstrations finishing with home reared burgers for lunch!
Dan comes from a farming family, having spent over 20 years farming in his own right in North Wales, including several years as the Snowdon Shepherd and now the last 5 years on the Great Orme as the shepherd for the National Trust, he describes himself as a Conservation Farmer, putting nature first.
Broadly the morning will look like this
10am Meet at the summit car park
Welcome
Tour of the farm
Overview of sheep farming in North Wales
Explanation about different breeds
Sheepdog demonstration
Shearing demonstration
The morning will end with lunch provided by Dan with his home reared lamb burgers, cake and coffee / tea.
There will be plenty of opportunity for questions
A payment of £10 is payable on the day to Dan for lunch
