Mountain Training Association have teamed up with the Met Office to provide this specialist weather workshop specifically to support the syllabi of Mountain Training's qualifications as well as enhancing the knowledge of qualified leaders and instructors in their ability to apply information gained from available forecast information, practically whilst planning and dynamically whilst out in the hills and mountains.
Attendees will be given access to an online self-taught session using the pre-course resources and materials hosted on the new Met Office learning portal (exclusive to attendees) to gain a prior understanding of Airmasses and Weather Fronts. The Met Office plans to send workshop attendees the access details to their online portal 3 weeks before the event is scheduled to run;

TRAVEL TO THE VENUE
Please note that there is very limited parking at the centre and we hope that you will consider using public transport if possible. The following details have been provided by the venue - please check beforehand.
Public Transport to the Water of Leith Centre is as follows:
From Princes Street
Bus No 44 and 34, stopping right outside the centre.
Bus No 36 (from Lothian Road) stopping right outside the centre
Bus No 4 from Princes Street
You would need to get off the stop before the 'above' which is at the junction of 'Prince Charlie' bridge at the foot of Craiglockhart Avenue.
There is a local train from Waverley Train Station which stops at Slateford station (not that regular and a longer walk to the centre but definitely doable.)
This workshop needs a minimum of 4 bookings to run. Attendees will be notified of cancellations or changes to the workshop 2 weeks before the date of the workshop. Attendees will receive a full refund or will have the option to transfer their booking to another available date.
If you are unable to attend the workshop, if cancellations are received up to 6 weeks before the workshop you will receive a full refund; less than 6 weeks but more than 4 weeks before the course: 50% refund; less than 4 weeks before the course date: no refund will be issued.
