A full day workshop designed for UK & Overseas Mountain Leaders/Supervisors and those leading long-distance treks. The workshop gives individuals essential knowledge/skills & useful tools for managing and leading teams/groups within a specific context of promoting effective, safe leadership & communication. Suitable for prospective, new and established leaders who wish to develop their skills. The workshop is applicable to both adult and youth expeditions. It includes interactive sessions, case studies and scenario based examples, along with up-to-date national developments. Includes insight into expedition companies, and what they look for when employing leaders.
The workshop is provided by Matt Brown who is an International Mountain Leader, adventurer and experienced Independent
consultant/trainer with 30 years of professional practice and outdoor freelance experience. Matt currently runs Bluestone Outdoors, a small outdoor training, guiding and expedition service. He has been leading and working on expeditions worldwide since the 1980’s. Matt has led numerous expeditions to 5 of the 7 Worlds Continents, and planning trips to those remaining 2 ! He currently works with a number of Leadership & Performance Consulting businesses across the UK. Matt also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work (Oxon) and Post Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management (Oxon).
You should bring pen / paper / laptops and suitable outdoor clothing for outside session.
