Introduction to Bushcraft (full day session)

This course will seeks to add to your knowledge of woodland plants and teach some fun bushcraft skills that will enhance guided walks and experiences for clients. Skills include rope making; weaving with willow, bramble and soft rushes; simple knife skills;  carving a tent peg and mushroom; making an whistle from elder; erecting tarp shelters.

Equipment needed

warm, waterproof clothing. leather / gardening gloves, secateures / rough cut scissors.

This workshop will be delivered by Alastair Ewen. Alastair is an IML and Director of Aspen Outdoors Ltd. Based in Glasgow Aspen runs bushcraft and outdoor learning for adults and young people. We are also run navigation courses, hillwalking guiding and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions.
