Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.

The course will be provided by Dave Brown of AcwaTerra, experienced Mountaineering Instructor (MIC) and course director with over 25 years experience training Mountain Leaders.
The course is non-residential leaving you to choose your own standard of accommodation, hopefully somewhere near Llanberis, where we base the course. There's easy parking and it is a very short walk to Llanberis should you need anything. The venue of Llanberis provides great access to a variety of venues throughout Snowdonia.
