The workshop will cover IML summer ropework skills, spotting, group management, use of fixed equipment, anchor assessment, safe-guarding clients on ascent and descent. Movement on spring snow, kicking steps, cutting steps, micro spikes and awareness of spring thaw.
Please bring walking rope, slings, karabiners, helmet, micro spikes if you have them, walking axe, day sack for a full day in the mountains, packed lunches, and pen and paper.
The workshop will be delivered by Dave Norris who is an IML and WMCI. Dave has over 30 years experience of delivering a mountaineeing course to military groups and other organisations. He has worked in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Africa, Himalayas, South America, UAE and has extensive local knowledge of the area he now lives in, which is the French Pyrenees.
