The Cup and Ring Stones Of Ilkley Moor
This half day workshop forms part of a FREE CPD event organised by the Yorkshire Regional Team and led by experts in their fields. This is a great opportunity for members to get together, improve their awareness and practice and refresh their skills.
There are over 400 known Cup & Ring Stones on Rombalds Moor which includes Ilkley Moor. These carvings are associated with the Neolithic and Bronze Age periods and are part of a common local and national tradition.

The session will be delivered through a field excursion with an informal structure of stopping and talking to the group. This will be used to impart the information that will enable completion of the objectives above. At the end of the session a handout will be offered containing the information covered.
What to bring: This is a half day afternoon workshop so bring snacks and drinks and dress appropriately for the weather and time of year. This workshop will predominantly be held outside so please dress warmly.
Workshop provider: This session will be hosted by Iain Mckintyre, MTA Yorkshire regional coordinator and expert archaeologist.
