The day will be presented by Professor Lew Hardy, Professor Tim Woodman and performance psychologist Dr Matt Barlow alongside our PSC Jim Kerr. The session will concentrate on relationships with risk, both for ourselves and working with clients, and will be a mixture of practical and theoretical learning that can be taken into our day to day work, as well as our personal climbing and mountaineering. Hot lunch will be available to all and tea/coffee will be available throughout the day. The session is worth one core CPD point. Bookings cost £25 inclusive of food and tea/coffee.

OTHER CPD OPPORTUNITIES
“Making Instagram work for your business” - Media Training with Mark Bullock
1000-1300 on Saturday the 2nd September prior to the AGM
The BMG social media guru Mark Bullock will be running a session, worth half a non-core CPD point, on using social media for your climbing and mountaineering business. This will be a mixture of classroom and practical learning based from Plas y Brenin’s main lecture room.
Bookings cost £30 via the CMS inclusive of tea and coffee and there are 15 places available.
For any enquiries, please contact Mark direct at: themarkbullock@gmail.com
Guides Medic Course
Owen Samuel will be convening a Guides Medic Course which will be worth either 3 CPD points (1 core & 2 non-core) or it will count as your 3 yearly first aid course plus 1 core CPD point. There are still places available.
Your instructors will be Paramedics and Mountain Medicine Doctors with ‘in the field’ experience, it's run at a 1:4 ratio, the course is specific to IFMGA guides, drugs prescriptions will be provided ahead of the course, you will have the option to receive the drugs and specialist equipment that you order (additional cost), the course is tried and tested with good feedback by more than 30 of our colleagues.
Is the course for you? It's a big step up from basic first aid so you need to be motivated to do the extra learning and take on the extra responsibilities of your actions. That said, most guides carry drugs in their first aid kits... This course aims to try and legitimize that!
The course comprises of 6-8 hours of online learning, 1 day of theory and practical in the classroom at Plass Y Brenin, 1 day on the hill doing scenarios in technical terrain.
The booking fee is £400 and if interested please email Owen on: owenrichsamuel@hotmail.com
