Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.
Split 6 day training course for the Mountain Leader award - 12 - 14 and 26 - 28th April. Based out of Caban Cysgu bunkhouse, Bethesda, which is available to stay in (additional cost £21 per night - no cost for expedition night).
Training delivered by myself and Nick Read both local Mountaineering Instructors with a wealth of experience leading folk in all mountain ranges of the UK and abroad.
Travel during the course is kept to a minimum - Carneddau can be accessed from the bunkhouse and the Ogwen Valley is 10 minutes drive.
