As an outdoor professional, it is crucial to establish positive relationships with your clients and to radiate a strong leadership presence. In this series of four online masterclasses, you will gain insight into what your body is saying, what the nonverbal signals of your clients tell you and how you can understand the group dynamics of your clients. Knowledge and skills in these areas will result in achieving the best outcomes in your interactions. 
 
The course consists of one full day that covers the following areas:
 
Crafting your first impression
§ Foundation: Humans are innately social beings, relying heavily on nonverbal cues in communication. Explore the significance of these cues rooted in neuroscience and evolutionary psychology and deepen your understanding of your nonverbal communication.
§ Making a memorable first impression: Are you aware of the impressions you leave when clients meet you for the first time? Understanding the snap judgments people make based on nonverbal cues is the first step. We'll teach you how to interpret and emit the right signals to quickly establish connections and present a credible, competent, and personable image—skills that are indispensable for both in-person and online encounters.
 
Building rapport and sharing information in a credible way
§ Building rapport: Learn to build rapport after the initial meeting, using verbal and nonverbal strategies to cultivate authentic connections.
§ Enhancing credibility: Discover the behaviors that will enable you to share your knowledge and ideas in a way that ensures they are understood and memorable. Additionally, we will identify and tackle the nonverbal cues that can inadvertently erode your perceived competence and credibility, and thereby weaken your leadership presence.
 
Interpreting Your Clients’ Body Language
§ Decoding your clients: This session focuses on accurately reading your clients' nonverbal cues and responding effectively to foster stronger relationships and positive connections. Recognize emotions like fear, discomfort, joy, or dissent through facial expressions and body movements, and learn how to adapt to these signals to transform negative emotional states.
 
The course will be delivered by Ted Toussaint who is a Behavioral Analyst, Executive coach, and Body Language expert with a deep fascination for human behavior. She has a master’s degree in behavioral science, a Post Graduate Degree in Experiential Coaching and is a certified Body Language Trainer and Leadership coach. As an International Mountain Leader, her commitment lies in equipping outdoor professionals with the interpersonal skills essential for exceptional client interactions.
