Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on single pitch crags and climbing walls. Common activities undertaken by Rock Climbing Instructor will be roped climbing and bouldering. This scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.
About
Our Rock Climbing Instructor training course is delivered over three days, one of which is undertaken at a climbing wall in Sheffield with the remaining two taking place on the crags of the Peak District. The course equips you with the technical skills, knowledge of equipment, awareness of all aspects of managing safety and decision-making needed to work as a rock climbing instructor.
As part of the training course candidates will be provided with clear feedback to help in the development of an action plan towards their potential future assessment.
